Because of the anticipated heavy absentee voter turnout for the upcoming Presidential election and the ongoing construction at the Lee County Justice Center, the Absentee Voter Office has been temporarily relocated as of today, Sept. 14, to The Lee County Meeting Center (formerly the Johnson Galleries building) behind the Lee County Courthouse at 205 S. 10th St. in Opelika.
The move is a temporary relocation due to the special circumstances mentioned above and for elections after the November 2016 general election the office will return to the Justice Center.
Absentee voting for the Nov. 8, 2016, general election begins today, Sept. 14. Any qualified voter who meets the requirements for absentee voting may cast an absentee ballot by mail or in person at the Absentee Voter Office. Applications for absentee voting can be mailed or emailed upon request by calling 334-737-3635, picked up at the Absentee Voter Office or downloaded from the Secretary of State’s web page www.alabamavotes.gov.
