A Community ‘A-Fair’ (ACA) is sponsoring a fair at USA Town Center now through June 13. The organization travels across the country and has now made its stop in Opelika.

According to event organizer, Andrew Stringfellow Jr., this event is especially exciting because it has a 120-foot-tall speed-looping ride and a 100-foot-tall ferris wheel.

“This particular carnival plays the Georgia National Fair, the New Mexico State Fair, the New Jersey State Fair and the National Peanut Festival in  [Alabama],” he said. “So they play a lot of big  festivals. We have a large number of rides — adult and children rides. The carnival itself has over 120 rides … and the rides have music playing.”

Co-Owner of USA Town Center, Victor Vance, said that he is also excited to bring such fun opportunities to families in Lee County.

“We are pleased to again feature a top carnival for the local citizens of the area,” he said.

Furthermore, Stringfellow said he wanted the community to know that there will be a lot of great food options for families every night, including traditional fair food like funnel cakes, elephant ears, candy apples, corn dogs and savory options like Italian sausages, hamburgers, pizza, steak burgers, fries and more. There will also be a seating area for those that wish to sit.

ACA is taking safety seriously and will have metal detectors and security personnel on site.

Admission is $3 and wristbands for rides can be purchased for $25. Stringfellow did add that they plan to offer some discounts during the event but did not have that information available as of yet.

The carnival will be open Monday through Thursday from 5 to 10 p.m., Friday from 5 to 11 p.m., Saturday from 1  to 11 p.m. and Sunday from 1 to 10 p.m.
