Auburn Opelika Habitat for Humanity thanks community for support

Letter to the community:

Good afternoon everyone.
We share with you this message of gratitude for all that you have done to help us with another successful Cookie Walk.
We will not have accounting and financial numbers until later this week. It does appear from the initial accounting we will be somewhere around $7,000 to $8,000.
Everything about the event was wonderful.
Thank you to all of the committee for your leadership, planningand hard work on this 29th Annual Christmas Cookie Walk. Thank you Lisa Kriese Anderson for leading.
Thank you to all of the many volunteers who helped us with so much; WeHelp Churches, WeHelp Committee Members, True Deliverance Members, Scouts, Habitat Team, AU Students, Auburn High Students, Community Members, Bakers, Commercial Cookie Donors, Members of P.A.C.E., Mike and Mindy Smith/Holly Jolly Christmas and Cindy Reinke, Kathy Bonafede and Bonnie Hunter/Indigo Way, our quilt donorsand many more.
Thank you for the tremendous support of the Cookie Shoppers. We had a tremendous amount and consistent amount of traffic all day long.
Thank you to the awesome talent of all our performers who added to the atmosphere of the event.
Thank you to Santa for joining us and making the day special. Thank you to our photographer for capturing memories.
Thank you to True Deliverance Holiness Church, Especially Bishop Tobert and Calvin Patrick and all of the team for being excellent hosts for the event.
Thank you to our Media partners and sign team who helped us share the Cookie Walk with our community; Auburn Network, iHeart Radio, The Observer, East Alabama Living, Live Lee, Opelika Auburn News and Auburn Villager.
Thank you to the community partners at Auburn First Baptist, True Deliverance, Habitat ReStore, WalGreens, CVS and Mike Bennett Signs for the Banners.
All in all, it was a huge success.
We needed more cookies. I do not remember running out before. We had less cookies than 2023 and we had more traffic.
While this is a good problem to have, we must all work together on ways to increase cookie bakers for next year.
I have probably forgotten someone but please know that we appreciate everyone that helped.
God bless you all.
Thank you for your support of this ministry to build homes, communityand hope.
Merry Christmmas!
