The city of Opelika held the inaugural lighting of its new 72-foot Christmas tree — the largest in the state of Alabama — during SNOPELIKA festivities on Friday, Dec. 6. The tree is adorned with 1,058 individual branches, 4,232 ornaments and 106,200 LED lights and is expected to draw visitors from near and far. During SNOPELIKA, the community enjoyed Opelika’s Annual Christmas Parade, snowfall at Courthouse Square, delicious food trucks and a special visit from Santa.
