Dan and Callie Roberts Obituaries

Home going Celebration for Dan and Callie Roberts will be held on Saturday, Jan. 27, 2024, at 3 p.m. CST at Pine Grove Church in Beulah, Alabama.

Callie, born Dec. 28, 1944, went to meet her Lord and Savior on Dec. 25, 2023. Dan born on Dec. 07, 1941, joined her in Glory on Jan. 04, 2024. Dan and Callie were married for 58 years on Dec. 17, 2023.

Dan, a graduate of Auburn University, served his country in the United States Army. He was employed by MBM as a commercial truck driver for over 50 years. Dan was instrumental in establishing the 1st Volunteer Beulah Fire Department, a founding member of the Beulah Utilities Board of Directors, and one of the first of Lee County’s Civilian Deputies.

Callie, a graduate of SUSJC, served her community as a substitute teacher at Beulah and a Sunday school teacher at Shady Grove. Callie was a Scout mom, T-Ball mom, and cheerleader sponsor at Beulah High School. Callie was active on the PTO; helping to plan many school activities such as the Harvest Carnival School fundraiser and class trips.

Together they owned Beulah Shoppette, providing almost anything their friends and neighbors asked for.

Dan and Callie believed that service to their family and community was God’s work and they never wavered in their dedication to loving and helping anyone with a need.

Dan and Callie started and ran the concession stand at all Beulah home games, provided meals and transportation for most all Beulah away games, hosted the Beulah Homecoming parade every year, hosted a Christmas give away (complete with fireworks), and served biscuits to more then 100 people every day. They were the biological parents of two girls, but they loved the Beulah community as if they all belonged to them.

While we are heartbroken by our loss, we are joyful that they are reunited in Glory and are healthy, happy and basking in God’s Glory.

They leave behind two daughters, Cyndi (Nathan) Rollie and Kay Roberts. A Grandson, DJ Roberts (Jerry Padgett); brothers: John and Clarence Roberts; three sisters: Suzanne (Gary) Mayes, Paige (John) Lee, and Leisa (Rick) Menzl. They are also survived by a host of beloved cousins, nieces, and nephews.

As we say goodbye to Dan and Callie, we honor and celebrate their life. Theirs was a legacy of love, compassion and service. Their memory will live on in the stories we share and in the many lives that they touched over the years.
