Intern Intros: Kendyl Hollingsworth

Kendyl Hollingsworth, a Huntsville native, studied Journalism with a minor in Italian at Auburn University, where her favorite class consisted of learning about magazine feature writing. Outside of classes, Hollingsworth enjoys listening to music, with taste ranging from Kendrick Lamar to Frank Sinatra. When she is not listening to music on Spotify Premium or binge-watching ‘New Girl’ or ‘Parks and Recreation’ on Netflix, she also enjoys cooking and learning new recipes. A few of her favorite recipes include fried rice, shortbread cookies, and mini pies. One day she hopes to learn how to make pasta from scratch, she added. Her favorite type of food is Japanese with her favorite restaurant being Mikata’s Japanese Steak House. Hollingsworth is also an avid world traveler with one her favorite places she has visited being Sicily, Italy, where she said she hopes to return to one day.
With this internship, Hollingsworth said she hopes to gain more experience in feature writing.
She said she believes gaining more experience in feature writing will help better prepare her for her dream job of writing for a magazine.
