Edward Coye Yeager

Mr. Edward Coye Yeager, Sr., 81, of Opelika passed away on Tuesday, March 21, 2017, at Gentiva Hospice in Columbus, GA. A funeral service was held Friday, March 24, 2017, 2:00 p.m. at Providence Baptist Church East Campus with Dr. Rusty Sowell officiating. Visitation was prior to the service from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at Providence Baptist Church East Campus. Interment was in Garden Hills Cemetery in Opelika. Mr. Yeager was born on January 2, 1936 in Centreville, AL. Edward had a long career in law enforcement and retired as an Alabama state trooper. He also worked as a carrier for M & M Trucking Company. Mr. Yeager was a veteran serving his country in the United States Navy. Mr. Yeager is preceded in death by his parents, Gilbert E. and Onzelle Hubbard Yeager and his brother, Foye Yeager. Edward is survived by his sons, Doug (Amanda) Yeager and Coye (Larissa) Yeager, Jr.; daughters, Connie (Ken) Lee and Mechelle Golden; brother, Jimmy (Sue) Yeager; sister-in-law, Sarah Yeager; sisters, Earline Yeager and Linda (Charles) Caddel; eight grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and eight nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Mr. Yeager’s grandchildren: Christopher Lee, Clifford Lee, Blake Yeager, Adam Golden, Brandon Yeager, and John Yeager.
