The Opelika Chiefs beat the #7 Georgia ‘Canes 38-7 last Saturday night in Marietta, Ga. The league-leading Chiefs improved their regular season record to 9-0 before several hundred of their fans. There were probably as many Chiefs’ fans as there were ‘Canes supporters at the stadium.
This week the Chiefs will attempt to wrap up their second consecutive undefeated season at home against the now #3 Metro Atlanta Horsemen, who began the season ranked first in the APDFL. Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. at the Beulah High School Stadium, 15-20 minutes from downtown Opelika.
If you enjoy good football and want to support your hometown Opelika Chiefs, a team that is now known throughout the southeastern U.S. for its high level of play, be there.
