A new playing surface has been installed on the basketball courts at Bandy Park, according to Opelika Mayor Gary Fuller.
Though not ready for play, the redone court is one of several new additions to the park, including: new basketball goals, fences, walking trail with benches, concrete slab for a pavilion, all projects that will be finished in coming weeks.
“All and all I’m pleased with the progress and hope you are. It’s not yet complete but we’re almost there,” Fuller said.
Fuller added that Ward 2 Councilwoman Tiffany Gibson-Pitts will hold a celebration for the park’s progress in late spring/early summer.
