This year’s production of “Play On!” by Rick Abbot, performed by Trinity’s high school drama club, was a brilliant success.

The show ran for three nights plus an afternoon matinee and was attended by a full house on all three nights. The play featured 10 parts, played by Anna Latham, Cate Goodner, Mason Miller, Michaela Myers, Catherine Patton, Jackson Gunter, Maddy Busch, Clay Godwin, McKenzie Warmouth and Aaron Nell.

Anna Ballard, who teaches English, and Ione Mayfield, who teaches English, rhetoric and apologetics, directed the production. Rehearsal for which began in November. The comedy, which concerns a group of actors attempting to learn a play that is constantly being rewritten, involved hilarious sound effects, a melodramatic play-within-a-play, entertaining blunders on the part of the characters, and, of course, constant laughter from the audience.

Ballard said, “This is an extremely difficult play, and the students performed it extraordinarily well and should be very proud of what they have accomplished.”
