Rusty Prewett of the Auburn-based Allstate Prewett Insurance Group has expanded his agency to Opelika, opening in a new office in the heart of the city’s historic district.
The office, located at 601 First Ave., was formerly owned and operated by retired Allstate agent Clarence Cook.
Prewett purchased the building in January, and said he has spent the last few months renovating and readying it for business, particularly in making it accessible for those with mobility concerns.
“The building needed some renovations when we got it … and we did most of that in June,” Prewett said. “Ever since we got to the Auburn-Opelika area, we’ve tried to get involved and be a part of the community. We’re members of Opelika Main Street … and we just want to be a part of the Opelika community … work with Opelika residents and give back to their community.”
The new office is staffed with full-time, licensed sales producers and administrative personnel. Rusty Prewett is the agency owner; Angel Scott, customer service representative; Wayne Hamby, sales producer; Ashley Barrett, sales producer; Collier Farnell, sales producer and Jared Davis, sales producer.
Prewett said he looks forward to getting to know Opelika residents and help them find solutions to their insurance needs.
Office hours are 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. For more information, call (334) 745-5555.
