The miniature train, that has been a historical part of Opelika since the 1950s, is in the midst of a 6-month restoration project by RMI Railworks, Inc in Camarillo, Calif. Opelika’s Parks and Recreation department began a campagin to raise the funds for the project last summer and quickly reached its goal of $70,000. The Rocket is expected to be back in Opelika by the spring of next year.
