The Opelika Planning Commission voted to approve several conditional use requests at Tuesday’s meeting, one of which was for a home decor shop on Columbus Parkway. Simply Southern Home Decor, presently located on First Avenue, will re-locate to this new address. The business will offer custom designed furniture. Another conditional use restaurant at 830 N. Railroad Ave., next to a larger restaurant property that was approved at last month’s meeting. The developer of both restaurant sites is Jimmy Collins.
The commission also approved a request for a 1,800 square-foot addition to a child-care facility at 1901 Corporate Drive.
In order to accommodate holiday schedules, next month’s meeting on Dec. 15 will be a joint meeting for both a work session and voting.
