The Opelika Planning Commission held public hearings and approved conditional use of several properties for new businesses at Tuesday’s meeting.
One of the new businesses, to be located at 830, 850 and 870 N. Railroad Ave., is currently undergoing renovations to become a combined 5,000 sq. ft. restaurant. However, there is no tenant for the building at this time. Another property, 1995 Pepperell Parkway, was approved for a colon hydrotherapy business. The new business plans to offer acupuncture and massage therapy services.
In other business, the Commission approved the addition of three climate-controlled mini warehouse buildings at 1704 Frederick Road.
Before adjourning, the Commission discussed the meeting schedule for the holiday season and approved a plan to hold the work session and voting session as one combined meeting on Nov. 17 and Dec. 15.
