Mrs. Dena Janelle Sanders Gable, 61, of Opelika, Alabama, passed away Saturday, April 15, 2017 at East Alabama Medical Center.
Dena was a special person who loved her family. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandma. Her grandson, Sage, was her pride and joy. She was caring person that loved life and fought a 7-year battle with cancer.
Mrs. Gable is survived by her husband, Ronnie Joe Gable; daughter, Stephanie Marie Gable of Dublin, GA; grandson, Sage Gable Sheppard; parents, Talmadge, Sr. and Mary Sanders of Lafayette, AL; sisters: Jimmie Strong (Lamar) of Opelika, Kathie Casaday (Rick) of Auburn and Patricia Patterson (Mac) of Ashland, AL; brother, Talmadge V. Sanders, Jr. (Sonny); sisters-in-law: Vicki Rigsby (Ken) of Opelika, Patricia Murphy of Opelika, and Connie Medeiros of Auburn; brothers-in-law: Danny Gable (Gayle) of Opelika, and Willie Gable (Ann) of Tennessee; many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews; and many, many loving friends. Dena was a very special lady and will be missed by all who knew her. Fly high our angel. The family wanted to express a special thanks to Dr. Linda Farmer and the late Dr. Glisson with the East Alabama Cancer Center. A graveside service was held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, April 19, 2017 at Garden Hills Cemetery in Opelika with Mr. Lamar Strong officiating. Visitation with family was Tuesday, April 18, 2017 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Jeffcoat-Trant Funeral Home.
