The Lee-Scott Warriors fell to Monroe Academy in a game that was much closer than the score indicated. Monroe Academy, of Monroeville, scored two of its TDs on long plays that could have easily gone the other way. On their first TD, the Lee-Scott corner went for the pick and missed, resulting in a 78- yard pass completion for Monroe.

On the other, a fourth and one from his own 29, the Monroe QB appeared sacked but emerged from the pile, went to his left and scampered 71 yards for the score.

With the win, Monroe clinched the region championship but LSA sewed up second place and will host Morgan Academy of Selma in the playoffs in two weeks. Meanwhile the Warriors will host Pike Liberal in their final region game tonight.

The LSA juniors beat Glenwood 29-15, winding up their season with a record of six wins and two losses.
