Wendell P. Johnson 1926-2012
Wendell P. Johnson, age 85, was born on Nov. 26, 1926 in DeKalb County. He passed away on April 30, at Bethany House in Auburn. He was formerly of Albertville and he moved to Opelika in 1969. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Opelika.
He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Evelyn S. Johnson; and three children, Tommy (Mary) Johnson of Gadsden, Vicky (Bobby) Teal of Opelika, and Lisa (Tom) Norquist of Fort Payne; two brothers, Bobby (Joyce) Johnson and Gerald (Mae) Johnson; one sister, Loyce Bearden; six grandchildren, Melissa (Darren) Downey, John David (Kelley) Johnson, Allison (Craig) Craft, Paige (Perry) Outlaw, Blake Ashley, Amy (Jordan) Smith; and nine great grandchildren.
Visitation was held at Fredericks Funeral Home in Opelika on May 1, from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. A graveside service and interment was held at Marshall Memorial Gardens in Albertville on May 2, at 3 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to First Baptist Church of Opelika, or the Bethany House in Auburn.

Mary H. Robinson 1917-2012
A funeral service for Mary H. Robinson, 95, of Opelika, was held at 11 a.m. on May 2, at Jeffcoat-Trant Chapel. Reverends Tom Tippett and April Robinson-Parrish officiated. Burial was held at Garden Hills Cemetery. Visitation was Wednesday at 10 a.m. one hour prior to the service at Jeffcoat-Trant Funeral Home.
Robinson was born on Dec. 1, 1917, in Tallapoosa County. She passed away on April 29, 2012. She had been a resident of Opelika and Pepperell for more than 80 years. She was retired from West Point Pepperell Mfg Company with 53 years service. Miss Mary was an active member of the Pepperell American Legion Auxiliary, and also a member of Pepperell Baptist Church.
Robinson was preceded in death by her husband, E.W. Robinson in 1998; granddaughter, Tamara Robinson; three brothers, Jack, JR. and Wilbert Harrison; and sister, Johnnie Smith.
She is survived by two sons, Jerry W. (Paula) Robinson of Opelika, Tommy L. (Judy) Robinson of Opelika; five grandchildren, Danielle Repicky, Andy and Rusty Robinson, April Robinson-Parrish, Adam Robinson; great grandchildren, Drew, Hunter, Rhett, Chase, John David, Kirk, Kourtney, Zoe, Trey, Bryan, Haley, Elizabeth, Russell, Emma, and Bella; one great-great grandchild, Elijah; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Hueston Calvin Patterson 1928-2012
A funeral service for Hueston Calvin Patterson, 84, of Opelika was held at 2 p.m. on May 2, at Jeffcoat-Trant Chapel. Reverend David Waldrop officiated. Burial was held at Rosemere Cemetery. Visitation was Tuesday from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Jeffcoat-Trant Funeral Home.
Patterson was born on Feb. 23, 1928, in Coosa County. He passed away on April 29, 2012, at his home in Opelika. He served in the US Army during WWII and retired as an electrician with IBEW Local 443 in March 1990. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and working in his garden. He was preceded in death by his wife of 51 years, Doris Patterson.
Survivors include his son, Jerry Patterson of Opelika; daughters, Becky (Calvin) Lamberth of Opelika, Charlotte Patterson of Opelika; granddaughter, Laura Nicole Kelley of Opelika; grandson, Mark (Lisa) Patterson of Valley; great granddaughter, Macey Jane Patterson of Valley; sister, Gertrue Hughes of Sylacauga; a host of nieces and nephews; and a very special friend and caretaker, Joyce Carter of Dothan.

Catherine “Rine”
Alexander 1927-2012
A funeral service for Catherine “Rine” Alexander, 85, of Auburn, was held at 1 p.m. on May 3, at Mt. Moriah Baptist Church with interment in Westview Cemetery. Pastor Bernard Anderson officiated.
Alexander passed on April 26, at the Bethany House. She was a member of Mt. Moriah Baptist Church. Until her health declined, she served as a member of the choir, the Missionary Society and the culinary staff. After 30 years, she retired from St. Michael’s Catholic Church.
Her remains laid in state at the church one hour prior to the service.
Survivors include her three sons, Benjamin Alexander Jr. and Reginald Alexander both of Auburn and Anthony (Glenda) Alexander, Montgomery; four grandchildren, Jeremy Scott, Silver Hill, Brandon (Brittanie) Alexander, Daphane, Charity Alexander and Joshua Alexander both of Montgomery; three great grandchildren, Kalira Scott, Amaya Scott and Braylon Benjamin Alexander; two aunts, Lois Bryant, Auburn and Virginia (Harold) Farrow, Detroit, Mich.; a brother-in-law, John Alexander, Gadsden; a sister-in-law, Lucille Horn, Gadsden; an adopted daughter, Ada (Billy) Joseph, New Iberia, La.; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Pamela Thomas Maynard 1957-2012
Pamela Thomas Maynard died at home in Auburn, on April 29. Born April 10, 1957, in New Orleans to Robert Morgan Thomas, M.D. and Virginia Bonnville Thomas. Educated in the Columbia, Mo. public school system, Pam was a graduate of Rock Bridge High School in Columbia. She attended Stephens College and the University of Michigan as an art major. Pam was a licensed pilot and a retired Trans World Airlines flight attendant. She married Charles H. Maynard, Sr. on Feb. 26, 1989, in New Orleans. Pam is survived by her husband, two daughters, Margaret Katherine Maynard and Virginia Morgan Maynard of Auburn; a son, Charles H. Maynard, Jr. (Kristen) of Charleston, S.C.; parents, Dr. and Mrs. Robert M. Thomas of Columbia, Mo.; two sisters, Susan Thomas Dibden (Fraser) of Dubai, UAE, Celia Thomas of Overland Park, Kan.; a brother, Robert M. Thomas Jr. (Kerry) of Leawood, Kan. and a granddaughter, Peyton Lanier Maynard of Charleston, S.C.
Pam was a loving mother and wife, a gifted artist, world traveler, and a culinary master. She had a heart of gold, always ready to help those in need and will be missed by her family. Memorials can be made to the Food Bank of East Alabama, 375 Industry Dr., Auburn, AL 36832. Services were held on May 3, at 10 a.m. at the First Presbyterian Church in Auburn. Family graveside services were at 4:30 p.m. at the Hopeful Baptist Church cemetery in Hopeful, Ga..
Ina Copeland 1920-2012
Ina Copeland, 92, formerly of Opelika, died peacefully on March 9, in St. Paul, Minn. She and her late husband, Charles, were owners/operators of Charles Copeland Greenhouses of Opelika and were members of First Baptist Church of Opelika.
Preceded in death by infant son, Wade; husband, Charles; sister, Ona; and son-in-law, Tom Johnson. Survived by son, Mark (Pat) Copeland of Atlanta, and daughter, the Reverend Wanda Copeland of Roseville, three grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren.

Colleen Love Prickett 1976-2012
Colleen Love Prickett, 35, of Opelika, passed away at her home on April 30, 2012. A funeral service was held at 3 p.m. on May 3, at the Church of the Harvest. Burial was held at Watoola Methodist Church Cemetery. Visitation was Wednesday from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Jeffcoat-Trant Funeral Home in Opelika.
Colleen was born on Aug. 20, 1976, to Jennie Harris Lowery of Camp Hill and Richard James Love of Dadeville. She graduated from Beauregard High School 1994 and attended Southern Union. Colleen was full of life with an outgoing personality and a huge caring heart. She worked in the medical field at EAMC, several doctor’s offices and was last employed by East Alabama Ear, Nose and Throat working for Dr. William Blythe. She had a love for all her patients. She was preceded in death by grandparents, Bruce and Mary Nell Harris of Camp Hill.
Survivors include her husband Michael Prickett of 15 years and four children, Justice, Carly, Spencer and Gavin Prickett; her mother, Jennie Harris Lowery (Jeff) of Opelika; father, Rick Love (Angela) of Dadeville; one sister, Crystal Jenkins of Opelika; brothers, Ricky Jenkins (Shelia) of Easley, S.C.; Josh Love (Megan) of Grant, Kipp Love of Bellville, Michigan, Daniel and Nash Love of Dadeville; grandmother, Carole Love of Chino Hills, Calif. and James Love of Amarillo, Texas; grandparents, Tom and Evelyn Lowery of Opelika; one aunt, Patricia Harris of Montgomery; uncles, Tommy Love (Martha Nell) of Alex City, Mike Love (Jill) of Los Angeles, Billy Love (Sarah) of Pasadena, Calif.; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Rev.
