Zula Mae Williams
A funeral service for Mrs. Zula Mae Williams, 95, of Auburn was held at 1 p.m. on April 14, at Peterson and Williams Chapel with interment in Cluster Baptist Church Cemetery. Rev. Solomon Torbert officiated.
Williams passed on April 5, at Lake Martin Community Hospital. She was a member of Cluster Baptist Church.
Survivors include her five daughters, Jimmie Webb, Mary Williams, Claudie Webb and Hattie Williams all of Auburn and Lillie Mae Owens, Cleveland, Ohio; three sons, James (Annie Pearl) Williams, Willie C. (Patricia) Williams and John (Josephine) Williams all of Auburn; 34 grandchildren, a host of great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; two sisters, Christine Smith, Tuskegee and Maple Pugh, Detroit, Mich.; two brothers, Joseph Pugh and Jake Pugh both of Detroit, Mich; a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
Judith Ann “Judy” Jackson Reaves
1952-2012
Judy Reaves, age 60, of Auburn, passed away peacefully on April 14, after a short illness. She was born in Opelika on March 3, 1952, and lived in Auburn most of her life. She was a graduate of Auburn High School. She worked for Kroger in Auburn, Auburn University Food Service, Auburn City Schools Food Service and the Auburn Bowling Alley. She was a huge Auburn Fan.
Reaves was preceded in death by her parents, John Jackson and Juanita Story Jackson of Auburn. She is survived by her sons, Allen Reaves and wife Jennifer of Beauregard, and Scott Reaves and fiancé Ashley Mann of Opelika; adopted son, Nabeel Rawajfih of Opelika; grandchildren, Jon Parker Reaves, Brandon and Jason Anderson of Beauregard; brother, Johnny Jackson of Smiths; sisters, Donna McClain and husband Doug of Lafayette, Diane Jones and husband Danny of Prattville and Angie Head and husband Jeff of Auburn; niece, Kim Jones of Prattville; nephews, Benji McClain of Auburn, Will McClain of Charlotte, N.C and Daniel Jones of Charleston, S.C.; and several aunts, uncles, cousins and friends that she loved dearly.
Visitation was held on April 17, from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Fredericks Funeral Home.
A funeral service was held on April 18, at 1 p.m. in the Chapel at Fredericks Funeral Home. Rev. Steve Scoggins officiated. Interment followed in Auburn Memorial Park Cemetery.

Jonathan Lovelace
1983-2012
A funeral service for Jonathan Lovelace, 28, of Auburn was at 10 a.m. on April 13, at Jeffcoat-Trant Chapel. Reverend Al Jackson officiated. Burial was held in Antioch Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation was Thursday from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Jeffcoat-Trant Funeral Home.
Lovelace was born on July 20, 1983, in Opelika. He died on April 10. He was a resident of Lafayette, and lived in Auburn since 1988. He was a carpenter by occupation and worked in residential construction. Jonathan enjoyed writing music and playing the guitar. He was studying to become a landscape architect, enjoyed his friends and the family cat.
Survivors include parents, Richard and Jan Lovelace of Auburn; brother, Mark (Candi) Lovelace of Opelika; and 2 nephews, Jordan and Pate Lovelace of Opelika.

Jo Marion Bentley 1927-2012
A funeral service for Jo Marion Bentley, 85, of Opelika was held at 11 a.m. on April 18, at First Baptist Church Opelika. Reverends Steve Scoggins, Don Johnson and Dr. Rusty Sowell officiated. Burial was held in Garden Hills Cemetery. Visitation was from 9:30 a.m. until 11 a.m. on Wednesday, prior to the service at First Baptist Church.
Bentley was born on March 20, 1927, in Jefferson County. She passed away at her home on Sunday, April 15. She was an Auburn University Alumni. Bentley was a member of Opelika First Baptist Church, Sara Sunday School Class, Sunshine Choir, and Women’s Missions. She was a retired teacher, and loved to work in her garden. She taught school in Tallassee and Wetumpka and was a pastor’s wife during Dr. Bentley’s ministry career.
Survivors include her husband of 61 years, Dr. David H. Bentley of Opelika; daughter, Deborah Lindsey and husband Danny Lindsey; sister, Laura Lee Gilliland and husband Grover “Mickey” Gilliland; brothers, Joseph W. Griffin and wife Barbara Griffin, George Griffin; grandson, Daniel Matthew Lindsey and wife Brittany Freeman Lindsey; and granddaughter, Rebecca Ann Lindsey.

William “Bill” Coleman Booth, Sr. 1928-2012
A funeral service for William “Bill” Coleman Booth, Sr., 84, of Opelika was at 2 p.m. on April 18, at Jeffcoat-Trant Chapel. Reverend Randy Woodham officiated. Burial was held in Garden Hills Cemetery. Visitation was one hour prior to the service at Jeffcoat-Trant Funeral Home.
Booth was born on March 9, 1928, in Fredericksburg, Va. He died on April 16. He was a 1950 graduate of Auburn University School of Pharmacy. Booth was a licensed pharmacist for over 50 years and worked at Haynie’s Drug Store in downtown Opelika and East Alabama Medical Center. A Veteran of the U.S. Navy during the Korean Conflict, Booth was a pharmacist and Navy Corpsman.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Shirley A. Booth of Opelika; son, William C. Booth, Jr. (Lisa) of LaGrange, Ga.; daughter, Betsy Pitchford (Bryant) of Scottsboro; grandchildren, Matthew Booth (Kathy) and Jessica Booth (Bruce) of Nashville, Tenn., Julie Noles (Korey) and Lindsey Bruce of LaGrange, Ga., Ellie and Lewis Pritchford of Scottsboro; brothers, Herschel Booth (Ann) of Jackson, Miss., James Booth (Joan) of Alexandria Va.; sisters, Nancy Killian (Albert) of Opelika, Kathryn Booth of Opelika, Jerry Booth of Jacksonville, Fla.; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. H.A. Booth, Sr.

Betty June “B.J.”
Bynum Martin
1939-2012
Betty June “B.J.” Bynum Martin, of Opelika passed away after an extended illness on April 14. She was 73 years of age.
B.J. was born and raised in Alabama. She moved to Atlanta in 1960 to pursue a career in insurance. After raising her children, she moved to Opelika, where she retired from Quantegy, formerly Ampex, in 1999.
B.J. is survived by her children, Jennifer Martin (Mike Perkins) of Swartz Creek, Mich., Greg Martin, Sr. (Teresa Green) of Joplin, Mo. and Emily Martin (Pam Jones) of Opelika. She is also survived by four grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.
Visitation was held on April 17, from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. at Fredericks Funeral Home.
A graveside service was held on April 18, at 1 p.m. at Garden Hills Cemetery; Minister Greg Martin officiated.
B.J. loved her flowers, especially yellow roses and any kind of lily. She was a quiet and reserved woman, with few outside interests other than her family and her puppies.
She was also a very strong-willed woman and a wonderful mother. Although our loss is tremendous, she has finally found peace with Jesus.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the Alzheimer organization would be greatly appreciated by her children — your generosity could help us to find a cure for this evil, deadly disease.

A funeral sevices for Sadie Mae Morris Agee, age 71, of Maplesville was held on April 19, at 11 a.m. at New Convert Baptist Church in Maplesville.
Interment followed at New Convert Baptist Church Cemetery. Agee Brother’s Funeral Home, in Clanton, directed. She leaves to cherish her memories: three sons: Steve (Betty) Agee of Dayton, Ohio, Arthur (Latonya) Agee of Maplesville and Thomas (Anchylus) Agee of Opelika; mother: Helen Morris of Maplesville, four brothers: Sims Morris Jr., Christ (Iris) Morris, Efrom Morris and James E. Morris; two sisters: Shirley (Sam) Willis, and Patricia Morris; 15 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and special friends.
Ryan Paul Pope 1985-2012
Ryan Paul Pope, age 27, of Auburn, was born in Marengo County, on March 16, 1985, and passed away in Decatur on April 10.
He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Charlie Howard Pope. He is survived by his parents, Paul and Ann Pope; three sisters, Chasity (Jason) Broadhead of Linden, Megan (Bo) Pierce of Decatur and Wesley Ann (Steve) Terry of Pineapple; grandmother, Margaret Hasty Pope of Dixon’s Mill; great grandmother, Vermelle Johnson Cranford of Sweetwater; great-aunt, Glenda Johnson Waldrop of Sweetwater; as well as several nieces, nephews cousins and other family members.
A memorial service was held on April 14, at 11 a.m. in the Chapel at Fredericks Funeral Home.

“Ginger” Littrell
Dilworth
1940-2012
Mary Virginia “Ginger” Littrell Dilworth passed on April 16, She died peacefully at home in Auburn, with her husband of 49 years at her side. She was born Feb. 3, 1940, and raised in Athens. Ginger graduated with a degree in education from the University of Alabama, where she was a Chi Omega. She served as the President of the Birmingham Chapter of the Civiette’s club (1976) and was involved in Foster Parenting. After raising four children, Ginger started a business, “Alabama Nannies,” which ran successfully for many years. She enjoyed cooking, hosting and the Gourmettes Club. She was known for her wit and lively personality. She and Jim were members of Brookwood Baptist Church in Mountain Brook for many years. She and Jim enjoyed attending Cornerstone Church upon moving to Auburn.
Ginger is survived by her husband, James Blackman “Jim” Dilworth; and her children, James B. “Jim” Dilworth, Jr., of Hoboken, N.J., Virginia Caroline Minicozzi (Joe), of Asheville, N.C., Jessica Pittman (Les) of Montgomery and Michael Dilworth (Brooke) of Auburn. She loved being “Mimi” to her five grandchildren – Thomas (five) and Holland (two) Dilworth, of Auburn and Clyde (seven), Payne (five) and Charlie (three) Pittman, of Montgomery. She is also survived by her sister, Fay Littrell, of Athens.
A funeral service was held on April 19, at 2 p.m. at Cornerstone Church in Auburn. Reverend Josh Aggerton officiated. Interment followed on April 20, at 1 p.m. in Maple Hill Cemetery in Huntsville.
Visitation was held prior to the service on Thursday at 1 p.m. until the funeral hour.

Walter Cade Spratlin 1964-2012
Walter Cade Spratlin, Jr., 48, of Opelika passed away on April 11. A memorial service was held at Williams Chapel United Methodist Church in Little Texas on April 15, at 2 p.m. Reverend David Waldrop officiated.
Survivors include his wife of 22 years, Debra Freeman Spratlin of Opelika; one daughter, Laura Cade Spratlin (Nathan Flurry) of Opelika; one son, Steven Freeman of Opelika; his mother, Melly Hanson of Hartsville; his mother-in-law, Sandra Smith of Opelika; one brother, Roy Spratlin (Stacy). He was preceded in death by his father, Walter Cade Spratlin, Sr., of Notasulga; and Walter Joe Smith of Opelika.
He was a loving husband, father and friend, and will be missed by many. He was the owner and operator of Cade’s Custom Exhaust of Opelika for five years. He was an avid outdoorsman, especially deer hunting and four-wheeler-riding.
