Cindy Selene Shaw Dauber, 72, of Opelika, passed away at her home on Oct. 27, 2011. Dauber was born on Nov. 27, 1938 in Sylacauga.

She had been a long time resident of the Beauregard community. She retired in 2009 from the Biosystems Engineering Department at Auburn University. Cindy spent a number of years as a volunteer coach and sponsor of the youth bowling association at Auburn Lanes as well as bowling in several leagues herself. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert M. Dauber; and parents, C.E. and Roberta Shaw.

Survivors include four children, Bob and Rita Dauber, Lee and Kim Dauber, Debbie and Craig Griggs, and Trixie and Tony Langley; brother, Tom Shaw of Wetumpka; sister, Janie and Dick Berry of Anniston; nine grandchildren, Brian, Rachel, Hayley and Abby Dauber, Donna, Tracy and Jessica Griggs, Nathan and Brooke Langley; and four great grandchildren, Brayden and Caleb Dauber, Camryn and Ashtyn Griggs.

A graveside service was held at 2 p.m. on Oct. 30, 2011, in Garden Hills Cemetery. Dr. Rusty Sowell officiated. Visitation was held on Saturday from 4 p.m. until 6 p.m. at Jeffcoat-Trant Funeral Home.
