NOTICE OF PLANNING COMMISSION MEETING AND PUBLIC HEARINGS
TO:  RESIDENTS AND PROPERTY OWNERS OF THE CITY OF OPELIKA AND ALL OTHER INTERESTED CITIZENS
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Planning Commission of the City of Opelika, Alabama will hold a regular meeting and will be conducting public hearings on Tuesday, May 23, 2017 at 3:00 p.m. in the Commission Chambers in the Public Works Administrative Building located at 700 Fox Trail, Opelika, Alabama.  The purpose of the public hearings is to receive public comment on the following:
A public hearing on a request by Jim Weese, authorized representative for Mark Moody and Willie Joe Moody, Jr., property owners, for preliminary and final plat approval of Taurus III SD, Redivision of Lots 22-24 subdivision consisting of 3 lots located at 2825 Lee Road 732.
A public hearing on a request by Johnny Hamby, property owner, for preliminary and final plat approval of Hamby-Page subdivision consisting of 3 lot located at 380 Lee Road 156.
A public hearing on a request by James Miller, authorized representative for Barry W & Sue C. Tucker, property owners, for preliminary and final plat approval of A Re-Subdivision of Parcel A-1 Bean’s Mill, First Revision subdivision consisting of 2 lots at 6515 Hwy 29 North.
A public hearing on a request by Flora Jane Ingrum, property owner, for preliminary and final plat approval of Totten’s Map of Opelika, Redivision of Lots 5 & 6, Block 48, Redivision of Lots 5A and 6A subdivision consisting of 2 lots located between Geneva Street & South 10 Street.
A public hearing on a request by Harris Gray, LLC, authorized representative for Anderson Farms, LLC, property owner, for preliminary and final plat approval of Anderson Lakes subdivision consisting of 1 lot located at 4500 block Anderson Road.
A public hearing on a request by Donna Black, authorized representative for Tiger Town Developers, LLC, property owners, for preliminary plat approval of The Chimneys subdivision consisting of 81 lots located at 1009 West Point Parkway.
A public hearing on a request by Mike Bourdet, authorized representative for BT-OH, LLC (United Parcel Service), property owners, for preliminary and final plat approval of United Parcel Services subdivision consisting of 1 lot located at 800 Fox Run Parkway.
A request by Barrett-Simpson, Inc., authorized representative for Chapman H, LLC, property owner, for final plat approval of The Springs at Mill lakes, Phase 4 subdivision consisting of 43 lots at 2800 block of Highway 280.
A public hearing on a request by Mike Bourdet, authorized representative for BT-OH, LLC (United Parcel Service), property owner, for conditional use approval for improvements to the UPS facility at 800 Fox Run Parkway.
A public hearing on a request by FB Real Estate, LLC, authorized representative for Jesse R. Taylor Trust, property owner, for conditional use approval for a hotel at 2207 Anderson Road.
A public hearing on a request by Jeffrey A. Hilyer (president, E.A. Investments, Inc.), authorized representative for E.A. Investments Corporation, property owner, for conditional use approval for an auto broker and auto maintenance business at 230 Columbus Parkway.
A public hearing on a request by Clint Rogers, authorized representative for Larry and Marion Sankey, property owners, for conditional use approval for a Crawfish & Cajun Retail Market and Restaurant at 2611 Pepperell Parkway.
A public hearing on a request by Kendra D. McDuffie, authorized representative for Marca Properties, LLC, property owner, for conditional use approval for a Fish Retail Market and Carry-out Restaurant at 2213 Pepperell Parkway.
A public hearing on a request by David Fowler, authorized representative for Kenneth Holt, property owner, for conditional use approval for a Refurbishing Furniture business at 2217 Marvyn Parkway.
A public hearing on a request by Opelika Power Services, a department for the City of Opelika, for conditional use approval to construct a power substation at 710 Fox Trail.
A public hearing to consider a recommendation to the City Council on the request by Victor Vance, property owner, to rezone a 3.8 acres located at 1500 block Spring Drive from an R-3, GC zoning district to a C-3, GC zoning district.
A public hearing to consider a recommendation to the City Council on the request by Billy Sanders, property owner, to rezone 1.3 acres located at 45 Samford Avenue from a C-2, GC zoning district to a C-3, GC zoning district.
The following other agenda item is included for review at the May 23rd Planning Commission meeting:
Amendment to the Future Land Use Map at 1500 block Spring Drive 3.8 acres from low density residential land use to a general commercial land use
All interested persons are invited to attend the meeting/public hearings and be heard.  Written comments concerning the above matters may be mailed to the Planning Director at 700 Fox Trail, Opelika, Alabama 36801 at any time prior to the meeting/public hearings and may be further submitted to the Planning Commission at the meeting/public hearings.
The Planning Commission reserves the right to modify or alter any of the proposed amendments to the Zoning Ordinance and to make its recommendations accordingly to the City Council.
