The Opelika Observer launched its brand new website with expanded features and content for the online version of the newspaper over the weekend. More people consume news via online outlets and social media than ever before, and in the Observer’s commitment to serving the community an enhanced online presence was needed.
The Observer was founded by community leaders in an effort to provide in-depth coverage of Opelika news and in a show of strong support for the community, the new site will provide additional content that will be available only in the online version. The site development was managed by local advertising agency, Broad Street.  “We are excited to launch a new user experience for the Observer. The expanded opportunities for more local news and weather allow the Observer to expand their mission and reach new audiences online,” said Broad Street owner and Opelika native Charlie Ray.
The new website will feature expanded community features, web-only stories, lifestyle and business news, as well as weather and photo galleries. The mobile optimized site will be easy to navigate and read from a desktop or mobile device.
