Beginning this week and running through Oct. 3, the chiropractic associate team at Cornerstone Family Chiropractic is joining  in a friendly game of competition to benefit the Christian Care Ministries Soup Kitchen in Opelika.

Team members decorated cardboard boxes in their favorite theme and placed them in the office as drop off stations for items that will benefit the soup kitchen this fall. The soup kitchen staff is preparing to feed a growing number of patrons in need who depend on a hot meal each week to help extend their food budgets.

Anyone wishing to help support the soup kitchen in Opelika can drop off items at Cornerstone Family Chiropractic in the Airport Shopping Center, Suite E,  at the corner of Airport and Glenn Road in Auburn.

Placing the donated items in one of the four boxes will be a “vote” for each donater’s favorite decorated box and will help feed the many people who depend on the Christian Care Ministries Soup kitchen for a hot meal each week.

Items needed for this fall at the soup kitchen are 12-ounce styrofoam paper cups, plastic forks, knives and spoons, canned foods such as chicken or beef broth, boxed noodles, napkins and large paper plates. Donation of these items will help the staff at the soup kitchen spread their dollars so they can buy more food items from the Lee County Community Food Bank.
