A long time ago I questioned the use of the word “overnighted” as a verb by the Guntersville Advertiser-Gleam. I should not have questioned this usage. The Merriam-Webster’s Collegiate Dictionary lists “overnighted” as a verb.
According to Merriam-Webster. the use of “overnighted”as a verb dates back to 1891. It means to stay overnight, which is exactly the way the Advertiser-Gleam used it.

And then there was this headline from The Birmingham News in 1999 that was submitted to the Alabama Press Association for the award of being the most interesting headline in a while: “Ancient dung reveals fresh data.”
The story was about a research team in Germany that found “a bit of 20,000 year-old of DNA that would provide analyses of dung from an extinct sloth” containing recognizable fragments of long dead creatures and their genes.
