Construction is nearing completion on a new Dollar General store in Opelika, which will be located at 23 Samford Ave.
DG Public Relations Spokesperson Angela Petkovic said the store’s grand opening is tentatively scheduled for early spring, pending construction progress.
“When choosing store locations, meeting customers’ needs is Dollar General’s top priority. The company looks for places where we can offer customers an easy and convenient shopping choice,” Petkovic said on the store’s location. “We know convenience is a major factor in our customers’ shopping decisions as we generally serve customers within a three-to-five mile radius, or (a) 10-minute drive. We also take demographic trends, competitive factors, traffic patterns and community concerns into consideration.”
Petkovic added that the store will hire 6-10 employees based on store needs.
